It would be one thing, if the problem was fruit sugars or natural sugar cane, but that is not what we are talking about. We are talking about the white or brown sugar and high fructose corn syrup type of sugars, that are commonly added to almost EVERY single processed food.
And what makes this story worse is that sugar, just like most of our food today, is processed. I personally refer to these categories as follows: I think it is time we call them for what they really are, and not kid ourselves any longer about their chemical makeup.
But anyway, back to the sugar point. People today are eating a substance that is wreaking havoc on every part of their health, and what is worse we call those foods with the highest concentrations of sugar — treats.
Thus today, we are going straight into the core and getting the real, raw truth about what sugar really does in and to our body, and why if we are serious about good health and longevity, we want to avoid this substance like the plague.
The sugar I am going to refer to here, is specifically the white sugar that comes as granules or cubes, as well as brown sugar and all the various mixes of glucose, fructose and sucrose, including high fructose corn syrup.
So what is it? Here is the simplest definition I can give you: Sugar is a drug that has no nutritional value and is an addictive chemical. Hence, no wonder that today we have a nation that is addicted to sugar!
